SK Music Conference Update: Scott Leithead to Direct Delegate Choir!

HAVE YOU REGISTERED FOR SASKATCHEWAN MUSIC CONFERENCE YET?

Saskatchewan Choral Federation is pleased to announce that Scott Leithead will be the feature choral clinician at Saskatchewan Music Conference occurring November 7 – 9 at the Delta Regina! Scott will be directing the delegate choir as well as sharing his passion for music from southern Africa and for innovative and unique choral experiences in his sessions, “Building a Youth Choir Program” and “Music From Southern Africa.”

Scott recently completed a tour to South Africa with his world-famous, Edmonton-based youth choir, Kokopelli, this summer. He is the founder of the Kokopelli and TIME Choir Associations and has worked as a clinician, guest director, and evaluator at events in North America and beyond, as well as conducted provincial/state honour choirs on twelve occasions. In 2012/13 Scott was invited to conduct the Alberta Youth Choir for the Alberta Choral Federation’s 40th Anniversary, the Ontario Youth Choir, the Oklahoma All State Women’s Choir, and the first Ellison Canadian Youth Choir in Toronto.

Recent appearances include: conducting the Unisong Choir and the National Arts Orchestra in Ottawa on Canada Day; guest presenting at Festival 500 in NFLD; adjudicating the finals of the ACCC National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs.

Wanted: National Youth Choir Alumni!

The Association of Canadian Choral Communities (formerly Association of Canadian Choral Conductors) is looking to update their contacts for Alumni of the National Youth Choir.  A research project is being conducted by Emma Borsellino on behalf of ACCC in preparations for the NYC's 30th Anniversary in 2014.
You can contact Ms. Borsellino at ejb802@mun.ca
